Genome copy number is based on the quantification of the 16S rRNA gene from nine averaged samples. Mycoplasma gallisepticum (ATCC 19610) has one copy of the 16S rRNA gene per cell.
The reported genome copy number may vary depending on quantitation method used.
The limits of detection for this nucleic acid preparation will depend on the set of primers used. Primer efficiency should be determined empirically.
