Insert contains SmaI (2), PvuII (2), and RsaI sites. Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--4.0; PstI--4.0; SalI--4.0; HindIII--4.0; EcoRI--2.8, 1.1. The MIC2 gene product appears to be the E2 erythrocyte receptor, a 32 kDa glycoprotein involved in rosette formation but distinct from CD2. Detects many X- and Y-linked polymorphisms with TaqI. |
